News 2025: TKt48 series tendrowe locomotives of the Polish State Railways (PKP) were an important part of passenger and freight transportation on routes located in the middle mountains - the Giant Mountains and the High Tatras - in the 1950s and 1980s. The machines were produced in 1950-1957 at the Fablok and Cegielski factories, 191 of which went to PKP. Thanks to its high friction weight, the series became a true all-purpose locomotive in the mountains, and it was thanks to its maximum speed of 80 km/h in both directions of travel that it revolutionized traffic on side lines. With the decline in traffic and the closure of many side lines, the locomotives lost their use and by 1989 they were decommissioned and scrapped. Fortunately, more than a dozen machines were spared and can still be admired as museum and historic locomotives.

The new model of the PIKO steam locomotive perfectly reproduces the characteristic features of its original, impressing with the precision of the details. Combined with rich equipment and excellent running characteristics, the TKt48 will be an exceptionally attractive item on any mock-up, as well as in the showcases of collectors.
