PIKO 96314 SPALED LOCOMOTIVE SU45 PKP ep.V (available from 5.09.2024)
In the case of the SP45 series, this is a diesel locomotive that was constructed in the mid-1960s by the Cegielski plant in Poznan to handle passenger traffic. To keep the axle load as low as possible , the locomotive , which reaches speeds of up to 120 km/h, was equipped with two three-axle bogies. The serial machines, with engines licensed from FIAT, quickly became a mainstay of passenger and express traffic on PKP's non-electrified lines. Starting in 1987, the process of replacing steam heating boilers with heating generators began ; the locomotives thus modernized received the SU45 series designation.

New from PIKO for 2024: A PKP variant of the SU45 in the V era. The PIKO model of the SP45 universal locomotive reproduces all the proportions of the prototype very well. The accurate paint scheme and precise lettering are authentically based on the prototype. The model has freestanding handles. The sharply engraved bogies show all the details of the original, such as spring elements and axle bearing covers. The PIKO engine with two large flywheel masses provides excellent handling characteristics and plenty of pulling power. The model has a PluX22 digital interface for easy decoder installation and room for a large speaker.
