TheAntonov An-124 Ruslan is a four-engine jet transport aircraft of Soviet manufacture from the 1980s. Until its official premiere which took place on May 28, 1985 in Paris (Paris Air Show), it was the world's largest mass-produced aircraft.

The prototype, numbered SSSR 82002, No. 318, was flown on December 26, 1982 in Kiev, and series production began (according to various sources) in 1982 or 1984. The aircraft entered "service" in the Soviet military transport service in January 1987.

The colossus has a wingspan of 73.3 meters, an empty weight of 175,000 kg, and a takeoff weight of 392,000 kg. It takes 213,740 kg of fuel on board, which gives it a 16,090-kilometer range with a cruising speed of 750 km/h (top speed 850 km/h).
