The DAA Dry-Fire Practice Magazine is designed to simulate the operation of a real, loaded magazine as closely as possible. This allows for dry-fire training without having to insert dummy rounds to weight down the magazine. Additionally, you don’t wear out your “competition” magazines.
Inside the DAA magazines, steel weights are used to simulate the weight of a fully loaded magazine, and the patented spring-loaded feeder system makes inserting the magazine feel very realistic. Furthermore, the tension exerted by the spring prevents the magazine from rattling inside the pistol and causes it to eject with a force similar to that of the original.
DAA magazines DO NOT activate the slide stop mechanism, allowing you to practice reloading without having to release the slide.
The DAA Dry-Fire Practice Mag is made of durable nylon and can withstand a lot of abuse. However, we suggest not dropping them on concrete, as they are heavy and this could cause damage.
Will the DAA magazine fit my pistol?
We cannot guarantee that the magazine will fit every model and every manufacturer—there are simply too many to list. However, we can say that:
- The 1911 “mag” model magazine was created from a Megar 1911 8-round .45 magazine
- The magazine for the 2011 model was created from the STI 140mm 38S magazine
- The Glock magazine was created from a 9mm G17 Gen4 magazine
- The CZ magazine was created from an SP01 9mm magazine; it was also tested for the Shadow 2
- The SIG320 magazine was created from a P320 9mm magazine
Note:
We do not recommend using these magazines for dry-firing in combination with the CoolFireTrainer!
The rapid slide movement generated by the CFT, combined with the spring-loaded feed mechanism, causes the magazine to bounce violently during firing cycles.
This leads to excessive wear around the magazine catch and may render the magazine unusable.
U.S. Patent Pending.
