The Su-85 is a World War II-era self-propelled medium-weight artillery system and tank destroyer.
Su-85 armored combat vehicles were successfully used in large numbers from September 1943 until the end of World War II. These types of combat vehicles were produced at the Ural Heavy Machinery Plant (Uralmash) from August 1943 to July 1944, with a total production of 2337 SP vehicles. The 85mm D-5S cannon allowed the SU-85 to effectively destroy medium tanks at a distance of more than one kilometer, while from closer distances it was able to penetrate the armor plates of heavy tanks.
