The Panzer IV is one of the most important tanks used during World War II, constituting for a long time the main force of the German armored corps. Starting with the G model, the Panzer IV was equipped with additional 5-millimeter protective plates to protect the tank's turret and body sides, which soldiers called "Schürzen = apron." A total of 1,687 Panzer IV G. Despite the improvements, the tank was still inferior to the new Russian T-34.
