CYSTERNA ZAES 406Ra is a wagon designed for transporting petroleum products. The tank is supported on saddles and fixed with steel ties, and is equipped with a steam heating system and a safety valve. An upper hatch is used for filling, and drain valves on both sides of the tank car are used for emptying. Designed and manufactured by the Swidnica factory as a successor to wagons 29R and older. The tank car was produced in 1964-1981 along with the 406Rb (without heating, Zas series) variety for the domestic market as well as for export.
