Progressive Recoil Spring is distinguished from ordinary springs by the fact that the distance between the coils is increasingly smaller, starting from the center of the spring to the last coil.
When pressure is applied, the spring works in two phases:
- The first half of the spring, with identical coil spacing, begins to compress from the beginning
- When the first half is fully compressed, the second half, with reduced coil spacing, begins to compress.
Each coil increases the compression force of the spring. Full compression provides maximum resistance and reduces recoil impulse.
