TheZlin Z-226 is a Czechoslovakian training aircraft built between 1949 and 1974 in six versions: Z-26, Z-126, Z-226, Z-326, Z-526, Z-726 as aerobatic aircraft, for towing gliders and training pilots. Mixed construction, wooden wings, welded steel tube fuselage, powered by a four-cylinder Walter Minor 4-III engine.
The Zlin Z-226T was first unveiled at the Paris Air Salon in 1957.
The Z-226 version was fitted with the more powerful six-cylinder Walter Minor 6-III C205 engine.
A total of 1,457 aircraft were built, which have flown and continue to fly to this day in the skies of many countries.
