The MSTA-S is a Soviet-Russian cal. 152 mm self-propelled artillery gun that entered service in 1989, replacing its predecessor SO-152. It can fire a variety of munitions, including nuclear and rocket at a maximum range of 29 km at a rate of 6-8 shots per minute at various targets from close positions and direct fire, including when operating in mountainous conditions. More than 600 units of this self-propelled gun are in service in Russia, and many more have been exported to various countries. The MSTA-S has been actively used in various local conflicts and has won top honors from the military.
