The Volkswagen Transporter T1 was produced from March 1950 at the Wolfsburg factory in 4 versions as a van, special vehicle, minibus and door-to-door store. Due to the rapid development of production and high demand, a decision was made on January 24, 1955 to build a new factory in Hanover, and the first car "rolled off the line" in March 1956. Apart from the "Hunchback", this minibus was Volksvagen's best-selling model in the 1950s and 1960s.
