Bright gloss was a must! Back in the early 1970s, the bright yellow street color was an Opel bestseller. This also applied to the Commodore B, which was equipped with the obligatory black vinyl roof due to its "limousine" nature. The Commodore B was then considered a full-fledged sports sedan for those who wanted it to be both comfortable and easy to drive. WIKING miniaturizes the sporty version of the Opel Rekord D in the usual filigree and prototype way. The Commodore B is identical to the Rekord D, only in terms of design did the Rüsselsheim designers reach into their bag of tricks and, with a radiator grille and other optical enhancements, turn it into a generic automotive package for aspiring six-cylinder fans. Unveiled in the spring of 1972, the sporty Opel, like its 1960s predecessor, proved to be an iconic and, above all, extremely comfortable vehicle of the time.
