Plastic model of VW Golf II car from Viking company for H0 scale diorama (electric trains).

The second incarnation of the Golf brought VW the desired success

Umber brown metallic - this finish has the style of a modern classic. However, when the Golf II was first unveiled, it didn't seem like a legend and was rather seen as an avid daily companion. Regardless, former and current owners of this modern classic speak lyrically about the second-generation Golf, as it replaced its predecessor in 1983 and finally gained an eye-pleasing exterior. Sticking to the technical concept of the first Golf, the Golf II prototype managed to significantly increase its dimensions and performance. Bearing VW's internal designation Type 19E, the Golf II was built more than 6.3 million times between August 1983 and December 1992. It went down in automotive history as the first VW designed for automated production using industrial robots. The Golf II was able to seamlessly capitalize on the great sales success of the previous model.
