The Eiffel Tower , built between 1887 and 1889, is the most famous architectural structure not only in Paris, but around the world.
The tower was designed by Gustave Eiffel, built specifically for the Paris World Exposition, and was meant to commemorate the centennial of the French Revolution. It was a symbol of France's economic power at the time, a demonstration of knowledge and technology and unquestionable prestige. From 1889 to 2020, the tower changed its height from 312.70 meters to 330 meters due to the installation of antennas. The tower's structure consists of 18,038 metal elements connected by 2.5 million rivets, and weighs 10,100 tons. Depending on the temperature difference, its height varies up to 18 cm.
