The SCHAFTOL ® brand has its origins in the Scherell & Co. hunting and sporting arms company, founded in 1834, and was developed in the 1920s by Oswald Scherell, a leading Prussian master gunsmith, based on his daily practical work.
After almost two decades of good relations between Scherell and BALLISTOL, Mrs. Andrea Scherell decided in 2006 to sell the company, which she had taken over from her grandfather.
Since then, the gun care specialists at BALLISTOL have been producing Scherell's SCHAFTOL all-organic, original oil with the same passion and care. Since the acquisition, BALLISTOL has attached great importance to preserving and continuing this traditional brand, thus adding another element to the existing Ballistol Balsin range of oils.
More than half of hunting rifles have an oil-coated flask. It is usually pre-impregnated with oil during production. However, this does not provide lasting protection.
Therefore, any oil-treated flask requires regular maintenance with rifle flask oil. SCHAFTOL® is ideally suited for this purpose, as it is a top-quality, specialized flask oil made from only the finest natural ingredients.
SCHAFTOL® optimally preserves the rifle flask and protects it from all atmospheric factors, especially from roughness and discoloration. The flask becomes darker and more beautiful with each repetition of SCHAFTOL® treatment. Just a small amount is enough to achieve the desired effect and emphasize the beautiful natural grain.

Tip: Always take time to polish and rub the oil in by hand. Polishing machines are too rough and inaccurate to achieve good results. In the worst case, they can even damage the shaft.
