USS Missouri BB-63 - an American battleship of the World War II period. It was the third ship of the US Navy and the last battleship built by the US. Named after the state of Missouri, but was also called "Mighty Mo" or "Big Mo."

The Missouri was commissioned on June 12, 1940, and the keel for her construction was laid on January 6, 1941 at a shipyard in Brooklyn, New York. Construction was completed after three years, and the launching took place on January 29, 1944. This ship, like the other lowa-type battleships, was one of the most heavily armed American ships. It took part in many military missions conducted in World War II, as well as in the armed conflict in the Korean War. In 1955, after returning from Asia, she was withdrawn to the reserve and redeployed to the United States Reserve Fleet. In 1984 it was upgraded and returned to service, and in 1991 it participated in the Persian Gulf war effort. It "retired" from service on March 31, 1992, and was removed from the Naval Ship Register in January 1995. Since 1999, it has served as a museum in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
