Mi-24 - a heavy combat helicopter designed by Mikhail Mil's design bureau, produced between 1970 and 1989 at the Arseniev and Rostov aircraft plants in the Soviet Union.
The Mi-24D is a heavy combat helicopter with a five-blade main rotor and a three-blade tail rotor. It can be used as an assault, transport, and sanitation machine. All-metal construction, duralumin, titanium, magnesium alloys, among others, were used in production. Powerful 2 TW3-177MT engines with 2200 hp each, allow 270 km/h cruising speed and 315 km/h top speed. Takeoff weight is 11,100 - 11,500 kg, and kerb weight is 8340 kg.
