AN-2 - a Soviet-made multi-role aircraft, designed in the design office of Oleg Antonov.
The prototype was flown on August 31, 1947, and serial production began in 1949. From 1957 it was produced under license in China, and from 1960 in Poland in Mielec. The aircraft was used in agricultural, military, passenger and sport aviation. Reliable, simple in design, easy to fly and operate, with a short takeoff and run-up, it was fondly called Antek by Polish pilots.
