The Sukhoi Su-34 NATO named "Fullback" is a twin-engine, two-seat attack and interceptor aircraft produced since the mid-1990s for the Russian Air Force. Developed on the airframe of the famous Sukhoi Su-27 "Flanker" fighter, it was extensively modified to effectively replace the Sukhoi-Su 24 "Fencer" assault and bomber aircraft with a variable geometry wing. The Su-34, characterized by a large cabin with two side-by-side seats to accommodate the pilot and navigator/armorer, is powered by two powerful Lyul'ka turbofan engines capable of accelerating the aircraft to 2,000 km/h. It is capable of operating in extreme environmental conditions, is armed with a 30mm cal. cannon and can carry an incredible variety of offensive air-to-ground and air-to-air missiles. Sukhoi has also developed a version called the Sukhoi Su-32 FN (Fighter Naval) for export. The Indian Air Force tested three examples in 2015.
