Boeing B-52 Stratofortress - American long-range bomber, produced from 1952 to 1962.
Work on the project began in the early 1950s, and the first flight took place on April 15, 1952.
The aircraft took part in the Vietnam War and the first Gulf War, among others.
The B-52 bomber is powered by eight Pratt & Whitney TF33-P-3/103 engines and is capable of carrying 31,500 kg of various conventional weapons such as mines, bombs, missiles, etc. Maximum takeoff weight is 256,000 kg, (including fuel of more than 180,000 liters) which gives the B-52D version almost 12,000 km of range at a cruising speed of 940 km/h.
These aircraft are still in "service" in US aviation to this day.
