Mitsubishi A6M known as Zero - a World War II Imperial Navy fighter plane.
The design was developed by Japanese engineer Jirō Horikoshi in 1940. The aircraft was to meet criteria such as: speed in level flight min. 500 km/h, a run-up of less than 70 meters from the ship's deck, and a combat action radius of at least 500 km.
The A6M2 first serial model was flown on December 28, 1939, and the performance exceeded the established criteria, the aircraft reached a speed of 533 km/h at an altitude of 4550 meters, and the maximum range with an additional tank was 2350 km. Only 64 copies of this version were built.
