C-54 Skymaster four-engine transport aircraft used by the armed forces of the United States and many other countries from 1942 to 1947. In addition to cargo, it served as a means of transport for members of the British government and military personnel. It was one of the first to be named Air Force One and carried US presidents. It also played a key role in 1948 - 1949 by creating an "air bridge" between West Germany and West Berlin supplying the population trapped there.
