The A6M3/3a Zero fighter (Model 22) was designed to correct some of the shortcomings of its predecessor, the A6M3 (Model 32), including a reduced flight range. Related to this, the Model 22 received wings with a standard length of 12 meters and a larger fuel tank. A version with longer machine gun barrels was also produced. The Model 22 was first assigned to air groups in early 1943 and took part in actions in the Solomon Islands region.
It is a plastic model to be glued together in 1/72 scale. Length: 126 mm, width: 167 mm. The more symmetrical form adopted by Model 22 is realistically captured. The model can be assembled with longer machine guns mounted on the wings. The cockpit interior and landing gear bay are also accurately reproduced. There is a choice of open and closed cocpit parts. Two marking options are included.
Plastic model to be glued together by the Japanese company Tamiya. The kit does not include paint or glue.
