Buoyed by an auspicious wind, the graceful and stylish Trimaran Merihobus by Ugears invites you to leave the quiet harbor and set off on a fascinating voyage.
The reductive "Trimaran" model is made as a traditional sailing yacht. The design of "Merihobus" provides for a huge number of maximally realistic parts, components and equipment familiar to all sailors. Here you will find miniature elevators, rigging, sails, deckhouses and frames - just like on a real ship. The mechanical model of the "Trimaran Merihobus" is made of high-quality plywood, which has been tested by European laboratories and is used, among others, in the production of children's furniture. The kit contains all the necessary components for assembly. The workmanship of the elements is very high, as they are cut from plywood using a laser method.
Inside the package you will find plywood panels, from which you just need to remove the finished elements and assemble the finished model from them. You won't need glue or any special tools. Assembling the model is done on the basis of detailed instructions with drawings made in Polish and 10 other languages.
Design
The housing of the "Trimaran" is made as a skeleton and allows you to see the construction of the model from the inside and learn in detail about the construction and mechanisms of ships of this type. The rudder blade in the stern of the ship is controlled by ropes routed through the side floats to the rudder on the stern of the center float. Underwater wings on the side floats add stability to the structure, moreover, thanks to them the model is seemingly lifted up. The side floats are connected to the central float by a subframe, made in the same style as the entire rigging. A lifeboat lowering mechanism is mounted on the side floats. It consists of suspended brackets and a working elevator.
Merihobus' rigging is made of white threads, strong enough to ensure the strength of the structure, and at the same time thin enough not to visually weigh down the ship's design. The solution used allowed the designers to provide the model with lightness and volatility, while maintaining the stability of the mast and other important elements.
Of course, you should also pay special attention to the subtle decorative element - a miniature carved roach, which decorates the bow of your ship. Trimaran owes its original name precisely to this comforting sea creature, one species of which is called Merihobus.
How it works
On the mast are the sails: mainsail and staysail. As on real trihulls, the mainsail is raised and lowered on the mast along the leech by means of a halyard. The fore sail - the staysail - is spread over the staysail. At the bow, under the bowsprit, there is a drum for retracting the staysail. The booms of the sails are flipped with a lever that pulls the leech.
The kit includes several flags to paint yourself. So, you can develop a unique design for the main symbol of the ship and use the winch to raise the flag to the mast.
Inside the Trimaran's housing there is an anchor elevator. Thanks to the elevator's rubber mechanism, the chain automatically retracts and raises the anchor.
Raise the anchor and set sail on the beautiful new ship. Where will you sail today? On a voyage around the world? To a desert island? At least for a while, forget about the dull flare of your daily routine. The best time to bounce off the shore and see overseas countries together with the Trimaran Merihobus by Ugears production.
