The Marble Run Chain Hoist Ball Track is both a beautiful moving sculpture and an intricate toy that teaches and entertains. This DIY wooden ball track features a chain hoist driven by a hand crank and a series of tracks, with its own unique and fun obstacle or feature. Turn the crank clockwise to set the machine in motion, and watch as the wooden chain winch picks up and lifts the balls to the top of the machine, where a three-way switch splits them into different tracks. One ball falls into a trough with a loop at the bottom, another falls down the various steps of the cascade, and three others are collected in an accumulation container and lowered into one of three short tracks. All the balls pass through a common tray or collector, then return to the chain hoist, where they are lifted on their next journey
