Mikov Skaut 375-NH-1 is a traditional-style hunting knife with a full tang blade made of 425 stainless steel and a striking handle imitating deer antlers.
The Mikov Skaut has a full tang (so-called full shank) construction. This term describes knives whose head and handle shank are made of a single piece of steel. Knives of such construction are characterized by high resistance to damage, which is why they are used for outdoor work by survival enthusiasts, bushcraft, soldiers and hunters.
The head is made of stainless steel 425. Hardening to a hardness of 53-55 HRC, the blade becomes dull quite quickly, but is equally easy to sharpen. Therefore, even with an ordinary pocket sharpener we are able to efficiently sharpen the knife in a short time, which is extremely important for a knife used for hunting or other outdoor activities. 425 steel is characterized by high corrosion resistance, so it does not require special maintenance and care. The blade is finished with a classic satin (polishing) technique, giving the wedge an elegant look.
The blade has a derived full flat grind with a distinctly rounded belly, which, combined with the utilitarian clip-point profile, provides excellent cutting performance and high stress resistance. The massive 2.7mm thick blade has a flat back, making it suitable for heavier field work such as batoning wood or starting a fire with a flint.
The Mikov Scout has a stylish polymer handle, faithfully imitating deer antlers. The classic character of the knife is emphasized by metal fittings, which improve the grip and prevent the knife from slipping from the hand. To carry the knife at the belt there is a sheath made of natural leather, fastened with a metal fastener.
