Feldafing station is located on the Starnberg - Tutzing - Peißenberg line, which opened in July 1865. The station itself was built around the same time, using stones that King Maximilian II had allocated for the construction of his castle. Feldafing once served as a base for the Austrian empress's summer stays at Lake Starnberg. Designed as a grand reception building for Her Imperial Highness, the station, whose distinctive architectural style can be found around the world today, is also ideal for diorama builders who love historical themes.
