Functional model kit. On the double-track line between Landquart and Bad Ragaz, Maienfeld was an important junction until the 1990s. Since until then the railroad facility was operated by an on-site signal box, the station, despite its minor importance, was staffed and open from the first to the last train. In the 1990s, Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) discontinued baggage check-in at the station. After the expansion of the railroad and the relocation of the signal box, the plan was to continue operating the station as an unmanned station. The historic wooden station building was renovated. Since then, the station has been operated on contract by an employee of the Swiss Rail and Transport Workers Union (SEV). After his retirement in the summer of 2009, the ticket office was permanently closed. The kit includes appropriate LED lighting for one window. It is easy to assemble and precisely fitted to the model.
