Organic shapes distinguished the 1950s. So it's not surprising that open sheds, which were meant to provide shelter from the weather for cars, also featured a curved roof. Such sheds were a common sight at the time, as they could be set up with simple foundations in almost any location in a matter of days. Even car dealerships relied on steel girders with a curved roof surface.
