In the new Glock 17 and Glock 49 Gen 6 pistols, the manufacturer has implemented a redesigned recoil mechanism that returns to a simplified recoil spring configuration with a single flat wire. Although this design is simple, it offers limited recoil adjustment capabilities and lacks the advanced recoil control features essential for professional shooters, competitors, law enforcement officers, and firearms enthusiasts.
The DPM mechanical recoil reduction system is a direct replacement for the factory recoil reduction system and represents a significant technological advancement.
Unlike the Gen 6 factory recoil system, which uses a single flat-wire spring, the DPM system incorporates patented Progressive Triple Spring Technology combined with seven interchangeable outer springs, providing an unmatched level of recoil control, bolt operation, and user-adjustability.
The standard version is designed for 115–124 grains
The main advantage of the DPM system is the use of seven external springs, which allow the shooter to adjust the pistol’s behavior to:

- personal shooting style
- law enforcement or professional use
- shooting with or without a suppressor
