Tamiya acrylic paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are ideal for brush or airbrush painting. The paints can be used on styrene resins, polystyrene, wood and all common plastic models. The paint covers well, spreads smoothly and can be rubbed on easily. The paint can be washed off with plain water before curing.
When airbrushing, make sure to use one of the following Tamiya thinners: 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, 87077.
Colors marked X have a glossy finish, while colors marked XF are matte.
The paint can be thinned for airbrushing with Tamiya X-20A acrylic thinner.
The paint can also be thinned for airbrushing with Tamiya Lacquer Thinner. Using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner will ensure faster drying and a harder finish.
For better brush painting results, use Tamiya Paint Retarder (87114) for a smoother finish.
Tamiya X-20A Acrylic Thinner is the ideal choice for thinning Tamiya acrylic paint when spraying with an airbrush or cleaning bristle brushes. The formula in the thinner gives Tamiya acrylic paints the right consistency for blending colors without fading or staining
