This versatile product from DB AG is also represented as a PIKO Expert model. The locomotive's modern design has been accurately reproduced. The locomotive is painted red in accordance with the prototype, including the "DB logo." The single-arm pantographs have been reproduced with remarkable filigree. Sharply engraved bogies complete the look. Brake lines and sun visors are included and can be retrofitted. A powerful 5-speed motor ensures a smooth ride. Equipped with two flywheels, the PIKO BR 101 is extremely quiet. Two diagonally mounted traction tires provide forward traction. The most important technical features are the installed locomotive and cab lights. The light changes to red/white depending on the direction of travel, obviously using the latest LED technology. In digital mode, these functions can be switched separately. The control is done with a PluX 22 decoder, and simple digitalization is already prepared with a plug-in interface.
