The Vectron is one of the newest locomotives on European tracks and already has many fans thanks to its distinctive front end. The Vectron series of locomotives is used by many railroad companies and is considered one of the most important locomotives in Europe. The version as an electric locomotive with 6400 kW and a top speed of 200 km/h was designed as a replacement for the well-known EuroSprinter and its further development ES 2007. Diesel-electric DE has a power output of 2.4 MW and a top speed of 160 km/h. In terms of design, the vehicles are suitable for cross-border freight train service and passenger transport.

New in PIKO 2024: BR 193 Vectron as EU46 PKP era VI. With the Vectron, PIKO delivers a high-precision model with numerous extras, based on a solid die-cast zinc frame and equipped with proven PIKO standards. The tried and tested PIKO engine with two large flywheel masses provides excellent handling characteristics. The locomotive's tractive force, driven by all four axles, is enhanced by two traction tires, arranged diagonally to each other, on the inner axles of both bogies. The headlights and marker lights are illuminated by LEDs, whose red or white color changes depending on the direction of travel. The outwardly elegant appearance of this model includes a precisely reproduced roof (traction devices) and carefully detailed bogies with prototype wheel disc profiles. With a state-of-the-art PluX22 interface and sufficient PCB space, the model is perfectly positioned to retrofit a decoder with the largest possible speaker.
