The EU43 (Adtranz 112E) is a multi-system electric locomotive manufactured by Adtranz and built between 1997 and 2003 (a total of 28 units were built).
The EU43 was designed to haul high-speed express trains and heavy freight trains.
In 1996, Polish Railways ordered 8 dual-system electric locomotives; the first 3 were manufactured in Italy and tested on the test track in Żmigród. Unfortunately, due to financial reasons, the order was not fulfilled.
