New from Pico for 2025: In the late 1980s, PKP needed a new series of locomotives to meet the demands of continuous transport at 160 km/h in high-speed passenger services between Warsaw and Krakow. The EP05-series locomotives, rebuilt from EU05 since 1973, were limited and aged. So Pafawag designed a new type 104E locomotive in Wroclaw. The machines met expectations to such an extent that by 1997 PKP had purchased another 45 machines. EP09 was widely used and almost completely replaced EP05. Digital switching of driver's cab and engine room lighting by upgrading the digital decoder / Two metal scissor pantographs / Consistent painting and printing / Detailed equipment.
