The M-3 Scout light armored reconnaissance car became one of the mass machines of its class. A total of 21,000 such cars were built. Serial production of modifications of the M3A1 began in 1941 at the Ford Company. M-3 vehicles were used in the armies of all the anti-Hitler allies. The Red Army also had many of them. The vehicle could carry eight people and had armor to protect against bullets and shrapnel. The body could accommodate a large-caliber machine gun.
