WIKING 1/87 VW T1 (Type 2) KAS BURGER ST (78818)
The first VW T1 "Type 2" quickly became commonplace in Switzerland and by the early 1950s was already running in the colors of the then nationally known "Burger Stumpen." Unlike regular cigars, cigar-boxes used to be round, short, but evenly thick and bluntly cut at both ends. The first VW Bulli thankfully did a good job of delivering to customers. VW made it possible, as the new transporter was unveiled to journalists on November 12, 1949, after only 51 weeks of development. Series production began at the Wolfsburg plant on March 8, 1950.
